HIGH-SPEED VESSEL Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: shipbuilding; high-speed vessels with controllable spoilers in transient mode or in gliding. SUBSTANCE: ship has hull with transom and transom plate forming planing step. Ship is provided with aft controllable spoilers which may be extended from behind trailing edge of planing step by turning relative axes parallel to its trailing edge. Height of planing step no less than height of spoilers. Transom plate is sectional; it consists of two parts: its front part is extension of bottom. Vertical strake with strength knees is rigidly secured along trailing edge of front part located in vertical plane perpendicular to CL and BL of ship. Rear part of transom plate with controllable spoilers is detachably secured on this strake above plane of bottom. Spoilers are mounted from below in area of trailing edge. Planing step is formed by rear part of transom plate which is electrically insulated from front part of transom plate and ship's hull together with fastenings. EFFECT: facilitated procedure of manufacture, assembly, installation and electrical insulation of spoilers and transom plate; wide range of ship's tyres on which spoilers may be mounted. 2 cl, 7 dwg
