FIELD: mechanical engineering; manufacture of engines; shipboard propulsion plants working to their own propellers when propellers rotate in opposite direction. SUBSTANCE: power plant has non-reversible internal combustion engine including crankshaft with disk secured on its end face; this disk has toothed rim and unit driven by engine; flange of this unit is articulated with one connecting flange of engine depending on selected sense of rotation of driven unit. Ends of engine crankshaft are identical in construction. Each end of crankshaft ensure full power take-off. required sense of rotation of driven unit is ensured by turning and connecting the engine to driven unit by one or other end face.
