FIELD: mechanical engineering; road vehicles heat engines. SUBSTANCE: internal combustion engine has hermetically sealed housing accommodating two peripheral and one central spaces. Peripheral spaces are made in form of cylinders with heads. Reciprocating piston is placed in each cylinder. Pistons are rigidly coupled with each other. Flywheel placed in central space provides conversion of kinetic energy of reciprocating motion into rotary motion. Flywheel rim is provided with blind holes. Flywheel is secured on line shaft whose axis is orthogonal to cylinder longitudinal axis. Blind holes are located at angle to flywheel generatrix in direction of rotation. Each piston divides cylinders into combustion chamber and delivery chamber. The latter is filled with liquid medium. Central space communicates with each liquid medium delivery chamber through liquid medium delivery and return channels arranged to form hollow pocket for bypassing working medium. EFFECT: increased efficiency and service life of engine operating in vehicles. 2 cl, 2 dwg
