METHOD FOR TREATING THE CASES OF CHRONIC OSTEOMYELITIS OF LONG TUBULAR BONES Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying sequestrectomy under tourniquet under general anesthesia conditions. Walls are treated with antiseptic solutions. Composition volume to be predicted is determined by filling bone cavity with antiseptic solution with following measurement carried out. Then bone defect walls are treated with 96% alcohol solution and filled with composition having liquid and dry mass. Liquid component is 15% Sulfacrylate glue solution in acetone. Dry mass is composed of an antibiotic and taken in the amount of two-days age- dependent dose and methyl uracil powder. The dry and liquid components are taken in 1:1 proportion. Methyl uracil quantity is determined as one making up 1/2 of bone defect volume when mixed with antibiotic powder. Composition quantity corresponds to the bone defect volume measured. EFFECT: prevented postoperative pyo-inflammatory complications. 4 cl
