FIELD: medicine; surgery; traumatology and orthopedics.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for the treatment of chronic osteomyelitis. A skin incision is made, the bone affected by osteomyelitis is exposed, and the bone is trephinated. A bone autograft is obtained and added to the composition to replace bone cavities. Then the osteomyelitic bone cavity is filled with this composition. A composition containing vancomycin, high molecular weight hyaluronic acid in the form of a gel, and an antibiotic of the polypeptide class polymyxin B is used at the following ratios of components, wt.%: 2.0–4.0 of high molecular weight hyaluronic acid in the form of a gel, 1.0–1.5 of vancomycin, 1.5–2.5 of polymyxin, 95.5–92.0 of bone autoshavings.

EFFECT: invention improves treatment results and reduces the number of relapses.
