FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely traumatology and orthopedics, and discloses a method for bone cavity replacement in treating the patients with chronic osteomyelitis by filling the cavities with bone-substituting material. Method is characterized by that the bone cavities in chronic osteomyelitis are replaced with an antimicrobial composition of bone cement with an antibiotic gentamycin and antiseptics poviargol and dioxydine, as well as high-molecular medical polyvinylpyrrolidone with molecular weight of 1000000 D, with a certain ratio of components.
EFFECT: invention prolongs the antimicrobial action of the antimicrobial composition, which is filled with a bone cavity in treating the patients with chronic osteomyelitis, as well as providing the above composition with antimicrobial action against antibiotic-resistant microorganisms, which reduces the risk of recurrent chronic osteomyelitis and can be used in the rapid replacement of bone cavities in treating the patients with chronic osteomyelitis.
