FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: wheel is manufactured for cooling with lubricating fluid supplied to its end face through nozzle. Wheel is positioned on spindle at angle α to plane of rotation with formation of axially shifted cutting layer. Circular recess is made on wheel end face. Its length is determined by condition of equal time of nozzle location in this recess and outside it. Through tapered holes are provided in recess at angle of 2α to wheel end face. These holes are designed to supply lubricating fluid to end face which is opposite to nozzle. This construction ensures alternate supply of lubricating fluid through wheel pores, which reduces billet temperature not only as a result of better delivery of lubricating fluid, but also due to reduced friction of wheel against billet surface.
