APPARATUS FOR GRINDING WITH USE OF HYDRAULIC SHOCK Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: machine tool manufacture, possibly systems for supplying cutting fluid to grinding zone. SUBSTANCE: apparatus for grinding with use of hydraulic shock at supplying cutting fluid includes face chuck in the form of sleeve for mounting disc with axially shifted cutting layer. Unit for supplying cutting fluid operates with use of impulse pressure - hydraulic shock for injecting cutting fluid through nozzle onto disc end. Disc is mounted in face chuck in such a way that it is inclined by acute angle α relative to plane normal to rotation axis with use of spacing bushings having end face tapered by angle α, bearing assemblies inclined by angle α and nut. Injection of fluid by action of impulse pressure onto ends of disc and to cutting zone provides condition for intensified effect of cavitation erosion. It allows to improve efficiency of cooling and cleaning cutting surface of abrasive tool with axially shifted cutting layer. EFFECT: enhanced strength of abrasive discs, lowered thermal stresses at grinding, intensified grinding process, improved efficiency and quality of grinding due to enhanced impregnation of grinding disc with cutting fluid. 4 cl, 4 dwg
