FIELD: shipbuilding, mechanical engineering and other branches of industry, where preliminary treatment of items is required, for example, before cementing. SUBSTANCE: the installation comprises a drive, material feed, conveying and reception system, surface preliminary preparation device for drying and application of modifying compound on the surface with a working member located in the direction of process flow and interconnected by functional dependence, the device for preliminary preparation of surface is made in the form of a bath with working fluid, immersible drawing rollers are installed on the bath bottom, and cleaners are installed at the inlet, installed at the outlet is a device for removing the excess of working fluid in the form of a filter, the drying device represent a system of deflecting rollers spaced in height for elongation of path, and the device for application of modifying compound consists of receiving and pressure rollers, post, service tank installed in the upper part of the latter and connected through pipe-lines to the working member made in the form of hollow rolls closed from the ends and furnished with a slot with adjustable gap, and insert of micronappy material is located along the slot. Part of the insert is positioned in the roll interior over its entire diameter, and the rolls proper can be installed at an alternate distance from one another. The method for application of modifying compound on rubber material, including preliminary preparation of material surface (drying and degreasing), application of modifying compound representing a solution of dischloramine in acetone with distilled water consists in the fact that modifying compound is fed to the treated material by microdrop method during 30 s at a temperature of 15 to 25 deg C and relative air humidity on not higher than 65%; the consumption of modifier should make up 0.10 to 0.15 kg for 1 sq.m, and nap or felt is used as material producing the microdrop effect.
