FIELD: analytical chemistry, analysis of industrial and natural objects and of substances of special purity. SUBSTANCE: process of kinetic detection of selenium is based on its catalytic effect on reaction of manganese reduction in nitrite medium at pH=1-7. Detection sensitivity is 3.23,2•10-8%.. Ions of sodium, potassium, gold, 60000-multiple copper and 40000-multiple iron do not hamper detection. EFFECT: process is simple, demonstrates high sensitivity and does not require expensive reagents.
