AIRCRAFT TRANSFORMER Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: surface transport transformer to aircraft-type flying vehicles. SUBSTANCE: aircraft transformer has fuselage in form of pilot-passenger cabin, rear propeller plant, nose and tail landing wheels, folding starboard and port planes of wing and tail section detachably connected with fuselage. Aircraft transformer is provided with separate compartment for center engine and rear propeller plant. Aircraft transformer has two open compartments for nose and tail landing wheels provided with transmissions and mechanisms for their retraction and extension. Aircraft transformer is provided with nose compartment which is closed for surrounding medium and two aerodynamic streamlined ports above pilot's cabin for mirror observation and monitoring of direction at take-of and landing. Fuselage is provided with two air chambers of varying volume. Alighting gear is located in nose lower section of fuselage and is provided with hydraulic cylinder, frame and wheel which are pressed to fuselage bottom after take-off and landing. Starboard and port planes of wing are folded by sections by means of hydraulic device located in sections of each plane of wing. Both planes of wing are provided with front and rear bracing struts, propeller plants and engines located in front portion of root sections. Wheel landing gear is provided with skis for motion on snow and water; tail section if foldable for forming surface transport facility.
