FIELD: railway transport; diesel locomotives, gas-turbine and diesel driven trains with traction electric drive. SUBSTANCE: additional thyristors in number equal to that of phases of traction generator are introduced into traction electric drive. One lead of brake resistor is connected to one of output leads of controlled rectifier, and other lead of brake resistor is connected to common point of additional thyristors whose other leads are connected to corresponding phases of traction generator. EFFECT: simplified design of traction electric drive, enhanced reliability and efficiency owing to decreasing consumption of power from traction generator at electric braking. 2 cl, 2 dwg
