FIELD: radioactive waste disposal. SUBSTANCE: invention aims at burning mixtures of polluted cation-exchange and anion-exchange resins on surface of glass and simultaneously fixing combustion products in glassy matrix. More specifically, resin mixture is mixed with glass-former to form charge, which, after addition of carbon, is treated in "vortex bed" and laid on the surface of glass melt whereto oxygen-containing oxidant is simultaneously fed. Glass melt together with products of thermal decomposition of charge are aged to form homogeneous mass which, after cooling, transforms into solid monolith vitreous product suitable for long-term storage. EFFECT: accelerated process and increased product stability.
