FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: described are artificially prepared glass fibers having solubility of at least 20 nm per day at pH of 4-5 and melt viscosity of 1070 p at 1400 C. Composition comprises wt %: SiO₂ 32-48; Al₂O₃, 16-30; CaO 10-28; MgO, 2-20; FeO, 2-15; Na₂O + K₂O, not higher than 12%; TiO₂ not higher than 4%; other elements not higher than 8.
