SUBSTANCE: invention describes new substituted 2,3,4,5-tetra- and 2,3,4,4a,5,9b-hexahydro-1H-pyrido[4,3-b]indoles, their quaternary derivatives with quaternized nitrogen atom at position 2 and their salts with pharmacologically acceptable acids of the formula (I) also where R¹, R², R³ and X are given in p. 1 of the invention claim. Invention describes also methods of their synthesis and the use and pharmaceutical compositions. Indicated compounds show an anti-NMDA-activity and can be useful for treatment of patients with diseases associated with the damage of glutamateergic mediatory system: chronic neurodegenerative illnesses, for example, Alzheimer's disease, cerebral ischemia, epilepsy, schizophrenia and others.
