FIELD: oil purification methods. SUBSTANCE: polluted petroleum derivative is mixed with liquid aliphatic solvent in presence of flocculation-enhancing reagent and is further poured into extraction vessel. Gas is injected into bottom part of the vessel in the form of small bubbles. Flocculated impurities are then separated from solution. Apparatus contains high-pressure vessel connected to polluted oil and solvent sources and also to source of flocculation-enhancing reagent. Vessel has pollutant-emptying opening in its bottom part, pure product and solvent-decantation opening, and gas outlet hole connected with gas inlet hole so providing recirculation of gas. Method, in particular, is adequate for restoring exhausted lubricating oils. Purification by-product in the form of asphalt filler is itself commercial product.
