IGNITION SWITCH WITH LIGHTING Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: automotive industry. SUBSTANCE: ignition switch with lighting of key zone has cylindrical body closed by cover, turning combination cylinder, light source, arc-shaped reflector and light conduit. Body is made integral with cover. Cover is provided with through hole accommodating end face of turning combination cylinder arranged in space of ignition switch body. Light source is also installed in body space. End face of light conduit forms ring between end face of combination cylinder and edge of cover hole. Arc-shaped reflector is installed in body space, mainly on its inner surface. Arc-shaped reflector has arc-shaped reflecting segments on its inner concave surface. Reflector is arranged opposite to light source at different sides of combination cylinder with light conduit fitted on. Constant lighting of end face ring of light conduit provides visual determination of zone of ignition switch location, both with ignition key inserted into switch and without the key, even when visibility is low, and brings to minimum time taken for finding ignition switch.
