FIELD: SHF electronics. SUBSTANCE: method can be used to measure dispersion characteristics of moderation systems.. Device for realization of method has meter of reflection factor, high-frequency measurement path, examined section of regular communication line and complex load connected in series, linked to first output of meter of reflection factor and wavemeter connected to second output of meter of reflection factor. Method determining dispersion characteristic of regular transmission line consists in excitation of meter of reflection factor in specified SHF range by oscillations from SHF generator through high-frequency measurement path loaded with complex load Z11 of examined transmission line, in measurement of minimal value Σmin of frequencies fmin, of summary reflection factor from input of transmission line, in computation of deceleration factor nm on each of measured frequencies by known relations and in plotting of dispersion characteristic by computed values of nm. EFFECT: measurement of dispersion characteristic of moderation systems under conditions corresponding to operational mode of these system at working station with loading of deceleration system to unspecified complex load. 3 dwg, 3 tbl
