FIELD: fire prevention equipment. SUBSTANCE: device has base, housing, compartment for monitoring optical density of environment filled with smoke. Said compartment is shaped by border and has wedge region which is shaped between two inner surfaces of border, which are located at acute angle with respect to each other. In addition device has light source, which is directed towards wedge region of compartment and photodetector, which is located outside of optical communication to light source. Goal of invention is achieved by design of inner surfaces of border, which are flat, are perpendicular to base and are joined to achieve side surface of upright prism, which base is shaped as trapezoid. Optical axes of light source and photodetector are directed towards compartment for monitoring optical density of environment filled with smoke from surface which corresponds to smaller base of trapezoid. Said optical axes are also positioned in plane which is parallel to base of detector. EFFECT: low level of optical coupling control unit in low-profile smoke detector. 4 cl, 2 dwg
