DEVICE FOR CARRYING, MIXING, DISCHARGE, AND PLACEMENT OF THERMOPLASTIC MATERIALS Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: device relates to equipment intended for building of asphalt-concrete road pavements, for waterproofing and roofing operations with application of asphalt mix, bituminous mastics and other thermoplastic materials. Device has frame installed on chassis with pivotally secured heat-insulating housing. Accommodated in housing is heated vessel with charging hole and cover, discharge hole, and mixer. Mounted on end-face wall of housing at side of discharge hole is power-operated shutter which is inclined towards bottom side. Shutter is made with cutout in its lower part to allow for possible changing of its lateral cross-section and covering of discharge hole. Maximal bore area of discharge hole is as follows: S = V/4.25 . L sq.m, where V - volume of vessel, cu.m, L - length of vessel, m. Upper edge of shutter cutout in closed position is located below vessel bottom. Mixer rotation drive allows for changing direction and rotation frequency of mixer. Application of aforesaid embodiment of device ensures higher quality of mixing, improved intensification of discharge of thermoplastic materials, widens operating potentialities, affords better quality of spreading material resulting in high-grade pavements.
