FIELD: modifier for tyre and industrial rubbers. SUBSTANCE: p-xylene and paraffin are chlorinated at 4.5-4.7:1 weight ratio calculated for original p-xylene in the presence of 0.1-2.0 wt % with respect to p-xylene of initiator. Initiator is used as solution at temperature at which initiator shows its initiating power at pressure not higher than 5 atm. Mixing is carried out at drop point of reaction mixture of at least 92 C. Hydrogen chloride is then blown off. Stabilizer is added and final product is isolated in the form of scales and granules. EFFECT: simplified process and homogeneous final product. 3 cl, 6 ex
