FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: medium has stabilizing quantity of non-enzyme protein like mixture of bull serum albumin, gelatin hydrolysate, chelating agent and poising agent taken in equal quantities. Medium pH belongs to the range of 7.0-7.5. To determine the quantity of α-GST in urine, the method involves treating the sample under study first with stabilizing medium for effectively preventing from α-GST immunological activity being lost. The treatment being over, the urine sample is brought in interaction with insoluble form of anti-α-GST IgG. The quantity of α-GST bound to anti-α-GST IgG is determined by bringing bound α-GST in interaction with labelled anti-α-GST enzyme and measuring enzyme label activity. The stabilizing medium is usable for preserving urine samples at temperatures like -20 C without loss of α-GST immunoreactivity. EFFECT: improved α-GST immunoreactivity; enhanced effectiveness in preserving urine samples. 18 cl, 5 tbl
