SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical diagnostics. Disclosed is a bioimaging method comprising administering a suspension of polymer-conjugated carbon quantum dots, detecting an optical signal from said polymer-conjugated carbon quantum dots, wherein said carbon quantum dots are conjugated with the polymer by depositing said polymer on the surface of the carbon quantum dots by adding a salt to the solution, containing said polymer and said suspension of carbon quantum dots; in which said polymer is one of: protein, polysaccharide.
EFFECT: invention provides the use of non-toxic fluorescent nanoagents applicable for imaging tissues and organs in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo, coating said nanoagents with polymers to reduce the effects of opsonisation, not subject to photodegradation, not prone to uncontrolled desorption of the fluorescent agent.
