FIELD: microwave engineering. SUBSTANCE: resonator is built up of two or more rectangular-section modules or units attached to each other. Surfaces of modules covered with electricity conducting material form central conductor and at least part of resonator screen. Insulating layer is formed of module material which is usually ceramic. Modular units are recommended to be manufactured by cutting them of ceramic substrate. Resonator or filter can be manufactured dispensing with special-purpose tools such as by manual assembly of modules or by using automatic methods widely used for assembling printed wiring circuits. EFFECT: improved mechanical design of coaxial resonator and filter. 10 cl, 4 dwg
