SUBSTANCE: invention relates to particles of sustained release involving androgenic steroid dispersed in biologically degradable polymeric binding substance at their mass ratio from 1:4 to 7:3, respectively. Medroxyprogesterone acetate or megestrol acetate are used as an androgenic steroid. Biological decomposition of polymeric binding substance promotes to release of indicated androgenic steroid at the rate and duration that provide its concentration in blood serum from 1.0 to 50.0 nM/l for period from 48 h to 28 days after administration. Invention relates to also a method of activation of androgenic receptors, a method of inhibition of breast cancer cells and a method of contraception providing administration of therapeutically effective doses of their part of prolonged release of drug. New injection delivery systems of the sustained release of medroxyprogesterone acetate and megestrol acetate ensure to maintain low concentration of these steroids in blood for the long time, for example, one month and more and have minimal amounts of toxic residual organic solvent content and show minimal masculinizing effect.
