DEVICE FOR WELLHEAD SEALING Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: mining industry, equipment for sealing of wellheads of oil and gas wells in major repairs, performance of jobs involved in rotation of kelly and drill string by rotary table with mechanical drive and in round trip operations. SUBSTANCE: device for wellhead sealing has hollow cylindrical body with through channel to pass pipes and flange for connection to wellhead equipment. There is sealing insert with sealing member. Sealing insert is made in form of rotor and stator installed for rotation relative to each other. Rotor has central through channel to pass kelly through sealing member rigidly fastened to rotor. Stator is provided with additional sealing member rigidly connected to stator and being in contact with rotor body. Use of device in practice of well underground repairs allows considerable simplification of technology of rotary drilling with pressure mud flushing. EFFECT: labor input in device servicing. 4 dwg
