GEAR SEALING WELL-HEAD Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

Abstract RU 2160355 C1

FIELD: equipment used for underground repair of oil and gas wells, sealing of well-head in case of emergency on well and during long interruption in repairs. SUBSTANCE: gear includes hollow cylindrical body and flange. Body has conical hole to pass pipes with technological equipment. Sealing insert is manufactured in the form of conical coupling with sealing member on conical surface. Lifting branch pipe has shutting element and separable handle. Conical coupling is fitted with ball lock having circular groove arranged uniaxially with rotation axis of ball and has two side cut-outs to accommodate tongue. Tongues are so arranged on separable handle that tongue and one of side cut-outs match in position OPEN of ball. Another side cut-out and tongue match in position CLOSED of ball. Upper seat of ball lock is fixed against rotation with the aid of keys installed radially. Keys are covered by ring on outside. Sealing member is composed of several elastic rings. Rings have same geometrical shape and are placed one after another on to conical surface of coupling. Edges of elastic rings protrude beyond limits of conical surface of coupling by same value. EFFECT: updated design of sealing member and shutting element to develop more compact gear convenient for handling. 6 dwg
