WELL HEAD SEALING DEVICE Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: oil and gas production, particularly equipment used for underground oil and gas well repairing and well head sealing.

SUBSTANCE: sealing device has hollow cylindrical body with inner through channel permitting passage of pipes provided with production equipment, fixer and flange to connect thereof to well head fittings. Sealing device also has sealing insert made as cone clutch with mechanical pressing means and sealing member located from outside. The sealing member has longitudinal groove with cut for electric cable receiving. Sealing insert has tiltable support. Sealing member has boss located near longitudinal groove. The boss faces mechanical pressing means by one side thereof and may be compressed. Other boss sides are fixed in closed space defined by cylindrical body and cone clutch with tiltable support. Boss dimensions are selected to provide electric cable sealing in longitudinal groove area when the boss is brought into compressed state under the action of mechanical pressing means.

EFFECT: increased sealing reliability.
