FIELD: physics; signalling.
SUBSTANCE: proposed security alarm device for detecting unauthorised carrying of radioactive substances through check points of secure facilities contains a frame with ionising radiation detectors, an information processing and control unit, antipersonal detector in the control zone of the device and an information display with an audible alarm unit. The device also consists of a mobile scanning platform with ionising radiation detectors, moved along the height on mechanical guides by an electric actuator, a detector-encoder, which determines the location of the platform in space, supports and sensors for fixing the mobile scanning platform in its upper and lower positions.
EFFECT: increased probability of detecting sources of ionising radiation and determination of their location on the body or clothes of a person.
