FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: splint is designed for treatment of crus fractures. It consists of U-shaped frame on which attachment assemblies of limb damaged segment are positioned. Splint also has popliteal wrap, repositioning assemblies which enable setting-up of preset direction of splinter reposition. They also eliminate shift of splinters in three mutually perpendicular planes. Popliteal wrap is made of two arc- shaped rests lined with soft gaskets over internal surface and coupled with racks of U-shaped frame through flat hinges and rods on external part. Last connection is performed through sliding couplings in loops of which ends of rods rotate. Under-foot assembly consists of channel-like base, side backs of which contain blind recesses for threaded ends of racks on which fastening nuts are screwed. Under-foot and under-heel members are secured on external plane of base half-loosely by means of bolt. Needle holders are essentially threaded studs with holes for needle ends with bearing areas. Threaded studs are passed through loops sliding along racks of U- shaped frame by means of couplings fixed on racks in proximal part of splint by locking bolts. Threaded studs are secured by nuts screwed on ends on both sides of loops. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of treatment. 6 cl, 4 dwg
