FIELD: sanitary engineering, heat power engineering and chemical industry for performing gas cleaning, heat and mass transfer in the course of endo-and exothermic reactions with participation of liquid and gaseous substances in any branch of national economy. SUBSTANCE: the foam-manufacturing apparatus has a body, reaction chamber, liquid feed pipe, separator, gas-feed and gas-discharge pipe connections, tray and an overflow device. The gas-feed pipe connection is brought to the reaction chamber from the bottom in such a way that its plane of cross-section of the outlet and liquid surface in the tray are located at the same level, and the area of effective operation of the apparatus is conditioned by the value of relations between the height or capacity of the reaction chamber and the height or capacity of the tray respectively within 0.001 to 100. The apparatus reliably operates at a water concentration up to 300 cu.m/sq.m h, for example, in the process of neutralization of alkaline sewage by carbon dioxide of flue gas. The apparatus has no movable parts and members that can get clogget up or be overgrown with salt deposits, which ensures a high reliability of its operation in the presence of impurities in liquid and gas at a time. The apparatus may be used for contact heating of water in boiler houses, thermoelectric plants, water-power stations and gas-transfer stations of any power.
