FIELD: lighting engineering. SUBSTANCE: envelope of coaxially excited lamp rotates at speed sufficient to eliminate local discharges so that its different areas occur in vicinity of strong field built up by internal coaxial conductor thereby preventing arc discharge. Rotation speed of envelope is high enough to improve lamp capacity and to reduce cooling requirements. Envelope has thin wall in its area where filler is desired to be concentrated upon de-energizing the lamp so as to ensure faster starting of lamp. EFFECT: improved capacity and reduced cooling requirements. 29 cl, 11 dwg
