SUPERHIGH-FREQUENCY DRIVER OF ELECTRODE-FREE GASEOUS- DISCHARGE LAMP Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: SHF technologies. SUBSTANCE: invention is related to SHF devices intended to pump electrode-free gaseous-discharge sources of optical radiation used in lighting fixtures and radiation sources. Proposed superhigh- frequency driver has coaxial transmission line which central conductor is provided with section protruding beyond limits of output end of outer conductor. Input of coaxial line is fitted with three-arm splitter in which output arm and arm incorporating short- circuiting switch having outer and central conductors common with coaxial line are positioned along axis common with coaxial line and in which input arm positioned along axis crossing axis common for short-circuited and output arms of splitter is located at distance equal to one quarter of working length of wave from short- circuiting switch. There is suggested implementation of central conductor common for short-circuited and output arms of splitter and for coaxial line in the form of tube inside which linking coupling with rod-holder is mounted for rotation about axis of tube. EFFECT: design of compact device simultaneously providing for improved spatial homogeneity of distribution of flux of optical radiation, for reduced harmful SHF radiation on working frequency and frequencies of harmonics, capability to use SHF driver together with various formers of flux of optical radiation. 2 dwg
