FIELD: display of video information on individual and shared panels. SUBSTANCE: each pixel of display panel has group of at least two display electrodes and control electrodes crossing them; they are separated by insulating barriers and bear phosphor coatings of different color. At least one display electrode of each pixel looks like continuous periodic function with repetitive period equal to or multiple of spacing of insulating barriers which are perpendicular to X-axis of these functions. Any two adjacent display electrodes of each pixel form discharge gap along axis which can be varied between its minimum to maximum according to equation given in description of invention. Panel manufacture requires reduced operating voltages and does not involve thin-film technology. EFFECT: improved reliability, brightness, and luminous efficiency and reduced cost of display panel. 4 cl, 22 dwg
