FIELD: mechanical engineering, transportation roll. SUBSTANCE: roll has shell installed for rotation and made of refractory material with end pieces and support surface on each end piece, two end face covers located on one straight line with axis of rotation of shell on each end piece and taking support surface of shell. End face covers are made of material with higher expansion coefficient that refractory material of shell. One end face cover is rigidly mounted on shaft. Other end face cover is mounted on shaft for sliding in axial direction relative to shaft and is provided with flexible device for pressing end face cover to shell. Spacers are mounted between shell and end face covers. Surfaces of spacers pointed to end face covers have spherical support surface of the radius of sphericity equal to that of support surfaces of end face covers. Surfaces of spacers pointed to shell have support surface in form of truncated cone of the same taper as shell support surfaces. In other design version surfaces of spacers pointed to end face covers have support surface in form of truncated cone, and surfaces of spacers pointed to shell have spherical support surface.
