FIELD: oil and gas production industry. SUBSTANCE: pipe elevator is used in subsurface repair of oil and gas wells and is intended for gripping pump-compressor pipes and holding them suspended during round-trip operations. Elevator has body with shackle, turnable segment grips with supporting cams which rest on control handle in closed position. Control handle is of U-like configuration and is in the form of movable tie-rod. Detents of supporting cams are made in the form of turnable stem which can be moved vertically when control handle is in closed position. Detent is kept in slot of body when it is in position locked from turning. Elevator inheres higher level of reliability due to application of three-stage interlocking system. Wise arrangement of working members and interlocking components allows for visual monitoring of their condition in process of elevator operation, and it permits of timely detection of faults with taking required measures so as to prevent emergency dropping of pump-compressor pipes. Enhanced reliability of pipe elevator is achieved due to additional locking of detent from uncontrolled operation. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 6 dwg
