FIELD: oil and gas producing industry, particularly, equipment applicable in servicing of oil and gas wells, in catching and suspending of tubing. SUBSTANCE: elevator has body with recess for passage of changeable grapples made in form of turning segments and having rod. Hinged to body are shackle and turning handle. Ratio of diameter D of internal circumference of elevator body to internal diameter d of changeable grapples amounts up to 1.1- 1.4. Working face of vertical supporting post over which lies the way of spring-loaded retainer from open position to closed position has length within D/5 to D/2. Nonworking face of vertical supporting post coming in contact with spring-loaded retainer in closed position is ended in stop. Said stop prevents spring-loaded retainer from protruding in open position beyond limits of vertical supporting post. Installed in turning handle is spring-loaded lock constantly pressed to vertical supporting post with help of spring. EFFECT: improved elevator performance, higher reliability of tubing fixation and safety of attending personnel. 3 cl, 2 dwg
