FIELD: study of materials by secondary emission methods. SUBSTANCE: method measuring amplitude is based on compensation of noise component by selection of corresponding form of probing pulse with flat vertex. Salient feature of invention lies in usage of two procedures of time processing. In agreement with one procedure signal is first differentiated and then integrated under zero initial conditions at time that corresponds to flat vertex of probing pulse. In accordance with the other procedure signal is let pass only during time that corresponds to flat vertex of probing pulse. Later signal of first channel is subtracted from signal of second channel. Thanks to simultaneous coming of two signals noise realization is compensated and amplitude of obtained signal completely corresponds to flat vertex of probing pulse. Proposed method makes it possible to measure of amplitude of secondary emission signal under conditions when normal noise is comparable or sufficiently exceeds level of legitimate signal.
