FIELD: testing and diagnostics of automatic control equipment. SUBSTANCE: method involves measuring minimal number of groups of dynamic objects N, each of which has one input and one output signals, setting checkpoints for measuring input signals from said groups, detection of deviation of frequency characteristics with respect to nominal values for chosen checkpoints, development of sensitivity model for chosen checkpoints and N elements for one element in each group, detection of N decision parameters for N elements for one element in each group, and judging error in a group by minimal value of decision parameter. If given level of error search is not reached, then operations for splitting fault group, setting checkpoints and calculation of decision parameters are repeated to find fault subgroup of dynamic elements. EFFECT: simplified design of testing equipment due to decreased number checkpoints and decision parameters to be calculated. 1 dwg
