FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves diagnosing a patient by means of potentiometric titering of hydrogen ions. Step-by-step pH-metric examination is carried out on the whole stomach organ cavity space of myocardial infarction patients delivered to hospital, and hydrogen ions debit (Dh) is determined. Acid production K is calculated from formula K = (Dh2/Dh1×100%)-100%, where Dh1 is the hydrogen ions debit at the moment the probe is introduced, Dh2 is the hydrogen ions debit at the moment the probe is taken out. Then, response type of glands is determined for describing stomach functional state. Negative (astenic) response being observed in case of negative K value as response to mechanical irritant under basal conditions of pH equal to 2.2 and lower, duodenogastric reflux is diagnosed. EFFECT: simple, reproducible and accurate diagnosis method. 1 tbl
