FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: prior to laying out of blank to pattern, covering is tilted through acute angle relative to horizontal axis. Laying out is done by cutting by means of two parallel thin supersonic jets of liquid directed along trajectories of movement arranged in plane parallel to plane of covering and formed by closed elliptical contours corresponding to external and internal cylindrical surfaces of buffing wheel. Distance from point of beginning of forming of liquid jets to covering is chosen to provide complete cutting down of covering by liquid jets moving along corresponding trajectories at working feed. EFFECT: enhanced quality and capacity of polishing by using tools operating on principle of nonrecurring trace. 2 dwg
