FIELD: spectrometry of ionizing radiation, medical diagnostics. SUBSTANCE: proposed detector can be used as visualization aid of X-rays, for instance, for detection of flaws during inspection of quality of materials and articles, for checking of baggage for weapons and narcotics to generate image of examined objects. Gas coordinate electroluminescent detector includes photodetector, case with exit window transparent to spectrum of electric luminescence. Case houses anode, cathode and drift electrode. In this case at least one thin extended anode and edges of cathodes adjoining it and positioned on its both sides are located in same plane or on flat surface of second order. Distance between adjoining edges of anode and cathode and lateral dimension of anode are chosen by dependence established experimentally. EFFECT: simultaneous improvement of coordinate and energy resolution and response of detector and its enhanced sensitivity. 7 cl, 3 dwg
