FIELD: detection of ionizing radiation (IR).
SUBSTANCE: A high spatial resolution gas-filled wire electron multiplier contains identical wire cathode and wire anode, the wires of which are stretched with a uniform pitch, while the anode wires are placed orthogonally to the cathode wires, the X-coordinates are read from the cathode, and the Y-coordinates are from the anode, while the pitch s and the diameter d of the wires are connected by the ratio s≈πd.
EFFECT: The present invention enables to minimize the amount of substance in the two-coordinate detector introduced by the cathode and anode of the gas-filled electron multiplier, which is determined in units of radiation length.
