FIELD: mechanical engineering; dampening oscillations of various objects, flying vehicles in particular. SUBSTANCE: magneto-liquid device has housing consisting of two rigidly secured coaxial cylindrical members; inner member is made in form of continuous cylinder forming open cavity where piston is located for axial and rotary motion. Clearance between housing and piston is filled with magnetically active fluid. Cylindrical members of housing and piston are secured on non-magnetic adapters. Piston is made in form of set of engageable cylindrical members having form of magnetic circuit and magnetic field excitation windings located between them. Inner cylindrical member has cavities at the ends which are formed by rotation of curvilinear generatrix rotating around its axis; one end of this generatrix lies on end faces of cylinder and second end lies at points of intersection of axis by transversal sections passing through inner edges of outer cylindrical members at respective extreme positions of piston.
