FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: controlled magnetic damper contains a cylindrical body with a lid filled with magnetic fluid. At the bottom of the housing, a ferromagnetic rod is mounted coaxially with the rod and a nonmagnetic ring disk is placed. Magnetic system consists of poles made in the form of a ring of ferromagnetic material. Control coils are placed between the rings. Piston consists of a non-magnetic base in the form of a disk where the outer and inner cylindrical rings are fixed coaxially. Outer cylindrical ring of the piston covers the magnetic system. Inner cylindrical ring of the piston covers the ferromagnetic core with the formation of annular gaps. Annular groove is made on the ferromagnetic rod, into which spherical rolling elements are placed. In the second embodiment, the outer and inner cylindrical rings are made assembled of alternating ring ferromagnetic and non-magnetic elements. Ring non-magnetic elements of the outer and inner cylindrical rings are located opposite the respective control coils.
EFFECT: increase in the range of change of the power characteristic is achieved.
