FIELD: flaw inspections in construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves irradiation of part under inspection with spatially separated electromagnetic signals, reception of reflected electromagnetic signals, and their comparison with threshold signals; results of comparison serve as indications of flaws, if any; surface under inspection is irradiated by means of at least two all-polarized transceiver antennas with low level of side lobes in which main lobes of directivity pattern are directed along normal towards surface of part under inspection; irradiation is made through insulating plate mounted on inspected surface; apertures of transceiver antennas are arranged inside insulating plate. Distance between each transceiver antenna and surface of part under inspection as well as electromagnetic radiation frequency are chosen to obtain maximum or minimum of reflection factor of incident electromagnetic signal from surface of part under inspection. Aperture of one transceiver antenna is spaced apart from surface of part under inspection through distance greater than that of other antenna by value multiple of quarter-wavelength of electromagnetic signal in insulating plate. EFFECT: improved accuracy and resolution in detecting foreign metal or dielectric inclusions. 8 cl, 5 dwg
