FIELD: flaw inspections in construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves irradiation of part under inspection with electromagnetic signals at angle to its surface, reception of reflected electromagnetic signals, and measurement of reflected signal parameters; results of measurements serve as indications of flaws, it any; irradiation is made through insulating plate mounted on surface of part under inspection; the latter is irradiated with elliptically polarized electromagnetic signals by means of two- component elliptically polarized transceiver antenna whose aperture is arranged inside insulating plate; used as parameters of reflected electromagnetic signals are variations in parameters characterizing state of polarization ellipse of radiated electromagnetic signal. In addition, reflected electromagnetic signals of first and second two-component elliptically polarized antennas are received, their apertures being arranged, respectively, behind and in front of aperture of two-component elliptically polarized transceiver antenna inside insulating plate. EFFECT: improved accuracy, resolution, and confidence of detecting metal or dielectric inclusions. 7 cl, 5 dwg
