FIELD: metallurgy, particularly, production of sinter used in blast-furnace and converter conversion. SUBSTANCE: highly basic sinter has oxides of calcium, magnesium, aluminum, silicon, iron, manganese and other elements. Content of oxides of elements with oxygen affinity exceeding that of silicon, relates to content of oxides of silicon and oxides of elements with oxygen affinity inferior to that of silicon according to CaO+MgO+Al2O3/MnO+SiO2+FeO+Fe2O3 = 0.2 - 0.46. Highly basic sinter contains sulfur in the form of metal sulfides and amounts up to 0.04-0.20 mas.%. Content of oxides in sinter is the following, mas.%: SiO2, 3-6; CaO, 10-30; MgO, 2.0-6.5; Al2O3, 0.5-1.5; MnO, 1-4; FeO, 12-18; Fe2O3, 45-55.
