FIELD: manufacture of pumps; turbo-pump units of liquid-propellant rocket engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed screw pump includes screw worm, impeller and impeller mounted on shaft. Ball bearing adjoins impeller hub. Pump is provided with slotted radial seal if impeller which has holes for connection of ball bearing cavity with cavity between impeller and screw worm. Impeller cavity is connected with pump inlet by means of pipe line. Slotted radial seal is mounted between impeller cavity and ball bearing cavity. High efficiency is obtained during operation of pump on liquid oxygen. Proposed pump has improved serviceability of ball bearing due to reduced temperature of cooling fluid and reduced power consumed by impeller at reduced leakage of working fluid.
