FIELD: water monitoring stations and water treatment systems of nuclear power plants. SUBSTANCE: sorption method for water cleaning from radionuclides such as radioactive cesium and strontium includes water treatment with Cambrian clay pre-calcined at 750-850 C; Cambrian clay is proposed to be doped with dolomite and phosphor-containing ingredients before being calcined. Clay or doped clay is calcined by heating to 180- 400 C and exposed to this temperature for at least an hour followed by fast heating to 750-850 C and exposure to this temperature for at least an hour. Optimal mass proportion of clay doped with dolomite and phosphor- containing ingredients is 1:0.08 - 0.1: 0.05 - 0.1. Cleaning coefficient, that is, ratio of source activity to clean water activity, is 137-32-40 for Cs and 90-12.4-=13.1 for Sr. EFFECT: improved effectiveness of water cleaning. 3 cl, 1 tbl
